2011

  • Chief executive David Newman officially opens an extension to BodyBASIC, a facility in Salford to help people recover from serious brain injuries which was made possible by Carole Nash’s fundraising. Staff and directors raised £15,000 to fund the conservatory extension through various sponsored activities, including marathon runs, cycle rides and David Newman’s North Pole expedition.
  • UK bikers vote Carole Nash as their favourite motorcycle insurance broker for the fifth consecutive year. It’s also the eight-year out of nine that the company has topped the poll as Most Used Broker in the annual RiDER Power survey conducted by RiDE magazine.
  • A groundbreaking internet campaign, which followed chief executive David Newman’s 2010 Arctic adventure wins the celebrated econsultancy Innovation In Online PR Award.
  • Commercial director Simon Jackson undertakes a gruelling 4,500km motorcycle expedition across South America with renowned global biking adventurer Nick Sanders. The journey from the Argentinian city of Zapala to the Bolivian capital La Paz covers what Sanders describes “one of the bleakest, most desolate parts of the world” and is completed in aid of the Brain & Spinal Injuries Centre (BASIC).

2010

  • Carole Nash celebrates 25 years service to the motorcycle community.
  • Carole Nash completes its biggest ever research exercise, having interviewed hundreds of customers and bikers to find out what they think of and want from the company. The findings inform a major new advertising campaign, a newly relaunched website and internal operations.
  • Carole Nash’s chief executive David Newman endures an arduous Arctic adventure, trekking to the North Pole to raise thousands of pounds for biking charity Riders for Health and the Brain & Spinal Injuries Centre.

2009

  • Legendary England cricketer Darren Gough helps launch a pioneering new Six Wheel policy at the Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show. The new scheme enables cars and bikes to be insured on the same policy and saving at least £50 against the price of separate cover.
  • Carole Nash rides off with the Consumer Press Advertising trophy at the British Dealer News Awards
  • In response to off roaders’ requests Carole Nash launches motorhome policies to support enthusiasts attending meetings. The company also introduces cover for military vehicles whose owners, like bikers, are enthusiasts requiring specialist service.
  • The company is shortlisted for Personal Lines Broker of the Year at the British Insurance Awards
  • A new “premium busting” service is introduced nationally following successful trials in London. This sees the company securing authority from underwriters for it to more closely analyse cases and use its expertise to reassess risk and reduce quotes.
  • Carole Nash becomes the first insurance company to back the Motorcycle Industries Association’s Get On campaign. This is a nationwide marketing campaign to encourage more people to take up riding motorcycles and scooters and allows people over the age of 16 the chance to try out a free one hour taster session.
  • The company agrees to sponsor the British Motorcycle Federation’s two biggest shows, Peterborough’s BMF Motorcycle Show and Lincoln’s Tail End Show. The deal complements existing agreements to sponsor Stafford’s International Classic Motorcycle Show, The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show, London Motorcycle Show, MCN Scottish Motorcycle Show, the Carole Nash Irish Motorcycle & Scooter Show and the top industry showcase, the NEC-hosted Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show. It also continues to support other regional and grassroots shows and events.
  • The Dublin office celebrates its 10th anniversary. Now employing 25 staff it is Irish market leader with an estimated 50% share and 25,000 active policies.

2008

  • Internationally renowned customisers Hawg Haven are commissioned to build a £30,000 chopper, live at the NEC’s Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show. The Carole Nash Old Skool Bobber is completed and fired up less than an hour before the show closes.
  • Low-cost “add-on” policies are launched to enable bikers to buy additional Helmets & Leathers, Key and Personal Accident cover.
  • Bikers again vote Carole Nash as their favourite motorcycle insurance specialist in the RiDE magazine’s prestigious RiDER Power survey.

2007

  • A new “modern classics” policy allows owners of bikes 10 years old or more to claim discounts of up to 26 per cent on their insurance. Typically brokers require bikes to be anything between 15-25 years old to qualify for lower cost classic motorcycle insurance.
  • A new initiative launched by Carole Nash means bikers can transfer any motorcycling no-claims bonus they have built up to a car insurance policy – and claim a discount of up to 60 per cent. This means that with a maximum no claims bonus – claims-free riding of five years or more – a £700 car premium would be slashed to just £280.
  • Carole Nash launches its first dedicated quad bike policy promising to offer riders greater choice, value and cover. For road quads, the policy includes breakdown recovery and legal protection worth up to £100,000 as standard, with a variety of discounts available dependent on the rider’s age, the value of the quad and the security fitted. A choice of third party only, third party fire and theft or comprehensive cover is offered and bikers can use any no claims bonus previously secured from riding a road quad or motorbike to minimise their premium.
  • Carole Nash teams up with MCN to launch a quest to find the nation’s finest bikes as ‘Britain’s Got Biking Talent.’ The competition attracts over 1,500 entries with the top 50 shortlisted bikes facing a public vote. Nearly 45,000 bikers vote with the top 12 bikes unveiled at the Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show. The dozen winners all have their machines professionally photographed to feature in the Carole Nash 2008 calendar, which is distributed to some 150,000 bikers.

2006

  • Carole Nash Insurance Consultants is acquired by Groupama UK, one of the UK’s leading insurers. Management at Carole Nash Insurance Consultants reassured bikers that it is business as usual.
  • Carole Nash becomes the first major biking specialist to offer a dedicated off road policy. The new standalone policy costs from just £99 annually and offers fire and theft cover for motocross bikes, including children’s models, plus sport, leisure, utility and junior quads.

2005

  • Insurance Times names Carole Nash as one of the UK’s top 30 brokers.
